It works really well! i have used it over- and - over with great results. it came w/ a bump feed system that is best for medium-duty use. other weed eaters are just too sensitive to a bump that i run out of line because it always gets cut. this is for anyone with a big yard or a landscaper.

Hard to Start Homelite September 28, 2009

This trimmer would not start when I first bought it. I removed the spark plug and sprayed a mixture directly into the cylinder. I cranked a few more times until the trimmer fired. It still took a few more pulls to get it started. Trimmer ran fine and had plenty of power after starting. It is still hard enough to start where my old Homelite starts with ease. I even messed up the tendons in my right hand pulling on this thing. The price was low but starting it is no fun.

I bought this to replace an old rechargeable string trimmer. I wish I had been able to try it out first. The assembly was quick and easy, but it doesn't work so well. The auto feed on the string is sketchy, and the bend in the shaft needs to be about another 20-30*. It isn't bent enough for the string to spin parallel to the group, the front end is always up in the air so you can't trim properly. I would have bought a straight armed one if I had known this in advance.

The first unit would not run, but it was promptly replaced with one that does. Overall, the trimmer has plenty of power for the average homeowner. Using the trimmer takes a litle getting used to because of the engine - throttle trigger position. I am satisfied overall. I was not expecting a top of the line trimmer for the price paid. This is a cost effective option for anyone needing a gas trimmer.
